Istanbul Airport: What sanusi told punch
However, Sanusi told PUNCH that the girls missed their connecting flight from Istanbul, Turkey to Nigeria.
He went on to explain that the stories were deceptive and that the airline was to blame.
Sanusi further stated that the Falconets had boarded a flight to Abuja.
“The Falconets were not stuck in Turkey; to imply the girls were stranded is a deceptive statement,” he stated. It’s the airline’s problem.
“By the time they reached in Istanbul, the connecting Turkish Airlines flight from Turkey to Abuja had left, and the Falconets were forced to wait for the next trip.”
The Falconets won all of their group stage matches in Costa Rica before losing 2-0 to The Netherlands in the tournament’s quarterfinals.
