ASUU States Conditions To End Strike Immediately

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) announced on Thursday how the Federal Government may end its prolonged strike in a single day.

The union’s National President, Emmanuel Osodeke, stated that the strike will stop if the federal government prioritizes its requests.

During an interview with Arise TV, Osodeke stated that Nigerian leaders would seek an end to the strike if their children were attending school in the country.

He also warned that if the children of Nigerian politicians attend school in the country, they will feel the pain that their parents are through.

The ASUU president urged the government to prioritize education as Nnamdi Azikiwe and Awolowo did in the past.

“Government should promote education like Nnamdi Azikiwe and Awolowo, and older statesmen in our country,” Osodeke remarked. When we were in school, we were given bursaries, but that is no longer the case.

“If the priority is there, this issue can be fixed in one day.” If Nigerian politicians had children in Nigeria, they will immediately handle the issue.

“We must find a way to ensure that the children of our leaders’ schools across the country enjoin and suffer like we do.”
