How to Browse with Mobile Data while on Airplane Mode in order to Avoid Unwanted Calls
Airplane mode on your phone is a shortcut for disabling all radio communications, including Wi-Fi, Cellular Data, and Bluetooth. When you’re not flying, you can utilize the Airplane mode to turn off distractions and disruptions.
Turning on Wi-Fi while in Airplane mode is straightforward. However, if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi in a certain situation, you can use these simple procedures to disable calls and keep the mobile internet operating in Airplane mode on Android phones.
How to Block Calls while Using Mobile Internet in Airplane Mode
1. Turn on Airplane mode from the quick settings menu.
Your mobile data should be turned on.
2. Open the Dialer or Phone app and enter the USSD code *#*#4636#*#*.
This will reveal a secret menu.
3. Now Select ‘Phone Information’.
Look for set Preferred network type options here.
4. Toggle on “Mobile Radio Power”
Once you turn on ‘Mobile Radio Power’ you should be able to use Mobile Data even while your phone is technically in Aeroplane mode.
That’s it. Using these simple steps, you’d be able to keep your mobile data up and running even with the Airplane mode. We couldn’t get the USSD code to work on our Samsung phones, though.
We’d also like to caution you to be a responsible citizen and keep your mobile data off when on a flight, at times when you are instructed to do so by the flight crew.
